THE
PORONGURUP RANGERS
The Porongurup National Park covers 2350ha and lies to the East of
Mount Barker.
The Rangers are magnificent with rugged granite
outcrops, tall swaying Karri Trees and wild flowers of every shape and
colour.
The variation of colours of the rangers against the sky at various times of the day has to be seen to be believed.
Although the Porongurups are only 12km long they
boast 20 peaks which rise over 600m and a highest peak of over 700m.
Whether you are driving along one of the scenic routes or bush walking you will be fascinated by the prolific birdlife, and the animals in the area are many and varied.
The Porongurups have something for everyone whether you just want to laze around under a big old gum tree breathing in the fresh air and listening to nature while reading a book or be more adventurous and tackle some of the many bush walks, this area is one you will never forget.
There are a number of excellent vineyards and wineries in the area and they are well worth a visit but please remember to drink sensibly and stay safe we want to see you back.
AMONGST MANY PLACE TO SEE

Castle Rock a tall granite outcrop. The walk up to the castle is invigorating and the plant life is many and varied. On reaching the summit the views are breath taking.
Below and slightly to the right lies the Leeshack Olive Grove while looking straight ahead one can see Mt Many Peaks, Albany and around to the left the Denmark area.

The tree in the rock will always be a conversation piece long after your holiday is over. You will be amazed at how this huge tree is literally growing out of a rock.
