Lee Family welcome you to The Leeshack
Olive Grove.
The
climate of the Great Southern region is
Mediterranean with warm dry summers and wet winters.
It is a paradise for Olives, Grapes and food
production. The beautiful Scenery and the clean
unpolluted air makes the area perfect for food
lovers and families alike.
LOCATION
Leeshack
Olive Grove nestles on the Southern side of the
Porongurup Ranges in the South West of Western
Australia. The property has panoramic views to Mt
Many Peaks, Albany and Denmark. The Grove is ideally
located for an enjoyable scenic drive from the Major
Tourist Centres of the Great Southern.
THE
OLIVE GROVE
The
22 Hectare Property is owned and operated by the Lee
Family and Managed by Marc Lee. The Grove currently
has 4,000 trees which will increase to 5,000 when
the Planting Program is completed in 2004. Seven
varieties of Olives have been planted providing an
excellent selection of Premium Olives which will
produce an exciting and varied selection of oils to
tantalise the palette.
HISTORY
Planting
commenced in 1998 with the planting of Manzanillo
and Frantoio. today the Grove has seven varieties
consisting of:
Manzanillo,
Barouni, WA Mission, Nevadillo Blanco, Frontoio,
Barnea and Coratina.
2003
seen the pressing of the first Leeshack Extra
Virgin Olive Oil. The fruit was picked young to provide an
oil which displays a pungent (peppery) taste making
it ideal for salad dressings, drizzling over roasted
vegetables, pasta, soups, bruschetta and fish. It is
magnificent in Tapenades and on its own with crusty
bread.
